A group of creative hairdressing apprentices helped Lutube视频 kick off National Apprenticeship Week 2016 by showcasing their extravagant skills on the catwalk.听

The hairdressing department, which is accredited by听Wella听Professionals and the British Barbering Association, chose to host this year鈥檚 showcase during National Apprenticeship Week to highlight the success of their apprentices and the broad range of skills an Apprenticeship can develop.听

25 hairdressing and barbering apprentices showcased their skills, each giving their model a unique image around the themes of 鈥榬ed carpet鈥 and 鈥榓vant-garde masquerade鈥.听

Dipti听Patel is currently completing a鈥Hairdressing Apprenticeship Level 3 with Lutube视频听听and working at The Messy Mare hair salon in Lutube视频.听Dipti, who modelled her hair design on the听avant听garde听theme, said: 鈥淚鈥檇 definitely recommend an Apprenticeship. Employers want experience as well as qualifications.鈥听

In addition to influential industry figures 鈥 including Reps from听Wella听and Salon Services 鈥 a number of local employers also attended the glittering catwalk event to get a glimpse of the apprentices鈥 collective talents. Employers in attendance included Sarah鈥檚 Hair, Objet d'art, Hair听Shac, KW hairdressing, Perfect Cuts, Nicola Louise, The Messy Mare and Beverly Ann's.听

Abigail Chapman, Work-based Hairdressing Assessor at Lutube视频, said: 鈥淲e received glowing feedback from attendees on the night. The apprentices鈥痺ere buzzing with excitement鈥痶o greet their鈥痚mployers, and the employers made the most of the networking opportunity after watching the catwalk. The event succeeded in highlighting the skills our apprentices develop during their training and why Apprenticeships are听so听important to us as a College.鈥听
