This qualification is for you if you are a 16-19 year old learner, who wishes to work as a plumber in the building services industry. It has been designed to deliver a high level of occupational skills and provide a platform from which to progress through further learning or into employment. This vocational route at level 3 is a vital step towards becoming a competent plumber.

The qualification will help you gain an understanding of the skills required within the plumbing sector. You will cover compulsory aspects such as:
ï‚· working safely and effectively
ï‚· principles of environmental technology systems
ï‚· cold water system planning and design
ï‚· hot water system planning and design
ï‚· domestic central heating systems planning and design

• GCSE English at grade 4 (or above) or GCSE Maths at grade 4 (or above)
• Completion of Level 2

This qualification will prepare you for a plumbing apprenticeship programme, which fully qualifies you to work as a plumbing and domestic heating engineer. The apprenticeship will give you an understanding of suitable on site skills and further knowledge required to work in the plumbing industry. Once qualified, there are many specialist qualifications available, such as environmental technology systems and designing and planning complex water systems.

Sitting a job interview, writing a personal statement, applying for university - taking part in our enrichment programme will give you a CV to wow in all of these situations! You’ll benefit from departmental and cross-college enrichment with:

You'll have your own Learning Development Mentor (LDM) and Work Placement Officer, helping you create both academic and career plans.

Thanks to our partnership with the University of LutubeÊÓƵ, you'll also benefit from everything the University has to offer, with a range of opportunities to build additional skills and experiences, giving you everything you need to become a FUTURE SUCCESS in whichever field you choose!

Exposure to employers is also an integral part of this programme – we'll seek to ensure that you have opportunities to gain real-word experience of your sector, either on short work experience or an extended Industry placement.
