Brickwork Diploma Level 1A

  • Overview of the course

    This course is Level 1 Certificate in Brickwork. It is a 'fulltime course' and runs over three days per week. All materials and tools are provided but you need to bring your own safety shoes and protective clothing. The course is a full academic year course and runs from September to June. The course is a mix of practical sessions and theory sessions.
  • What you'll learn

    You can expect to advance your skills in brickwork. The course will start with general brickwork skills and focus on giving you improved skills, ability and knowledge to carry out the general requirements of a bricklayer. If you have completed some brickwork before then you will need to let us assess your skills so that we can put you onto the correct course in order to help your progress.
  • Entry requirements

    You will need to apply to the College, attend a group presentation and then attend an assessment that will help us identify if you need any support whilst on the course.

    You may already have a certificate from another College. If this is the case then you will need to let us assess your skills and ability in order to put you onto the correct level of course.
  • How will I be assessed?

    You will be assessed by a fully qualified brickwork assessor that has the backing of the 'Awarding Body' for the skills and abilities that you are learning.
  • Is there anything else I need to know?

    Maths and English plays a strong part of fulltime courses / mainstream courses. Any learner wishing to attend LutubeÊÓƵ can expect to further their maths and English skills to assist them in their ability and understanding of their chosen skill. There is an element of needing to estimate for materials and costing, this is why you will be required to attend maths and English sessions throughout the year.

    You need to speak to one of our tutors before you can enrol on to this course therefore, please use the 'apply' button on this screen to register your interest.   • Future opportunities

    You can progress into employment as an apprentice if you find an employer or you can choose to attend the next level of course within the College. This can be a level 2 Diploma or possibly a level 3 Diploma depending on the skills that you have gained.

    You can opt to pay these fees in monthly instalments. You can set this up during the enrolment.

    Assessment


    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Financial


    You may not have to pay tuition fees at all, if you fall into one of the groups eligible for fee exemptions. If you feel you may be eligible or would like someone to explain course fees in more detail, pleasecontact us via our Live Chat service available on any page of our website.

    Adult Learners


    Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to the exams you took):

    Studying at College

The proportion of these hours will depend on the individual qualification(s) being undertaken. You must do the work set during these times or it will impact your progress on the course and therefore your achievement.
